Step-by-step ein teufel vs ein engel / may 05. painter / gab

Since Version 1 didn't promise to become a good one, i started on Version 2. I really do want the front of both characteres to be seen. after all, the devil's such a hot guy... ;). and i want a fragil looking, but determined angel who (on the first impression) doesn't stand a chance...
this time, i started with a detailed sketch general colorscheme
hum. those angelwings look kind of very... standart. and its hard to tell, in which direction they move... am i really doing an orange angel-power-light-source? Would work good with the demon's blue and green... but i hate retro-looking-color-schemes... oh yeah... the demon... DETAIIIILS! At one point, i wanted to let his bones look through some holes in his skin... but that would be too much. i stick to my beloved tentacles... and i need to give him more form again - looks kind of sloppy ...
weeee! this head turned out better than i expected ;) but I have no clue on how to do the angel's head yet. yak. beautiful people *tadam* the beautiful peopl... okay. and the angel's color's dont work out yet. The demon's legs are very difficult, too... i dont remember ever having done fur before... Technique: Im basically using oilbrushes + acrylics. I used the hairspray-filter on the furry legs to experiment with furry structures (still visible on the left leg)... but, like usual, filter's loke too pasted. I made the Highlights warmer + i still dont know about the angel's wings. i want a complete fadeout to green on the right side, so the red highlights work better. maybe the decision to draw the devil in blue wasn't the best one... warmer colors would work better...
i'll never do a detailed vorskizze again, because i tend to add stuff. The tentacles holding the angel's wings weren't planned at all. and slowely, i feel pitty for the angel.. ME!! Hum. I haven't even added the weapons yet. In the end, i see myself crying for the poor lil' creature... ah, what the heck. i keep pushing the contrasts up by adding a new layer, painting over with some greytone and set multiply (especially the wings), b/c the contrasts aren't deep enough yet.
Uh oh. In the roughdraft a part of the angel's clothing was supposed to be the second hoof of the demon... darn...
No. that really doesn't work out. nobody understands, how the ground works, how they're standing. i need to redo the bottom part of the clothing. :( But i like it so much the way it is :(
black haired?? well... it looked the best to me ;) If you check the colors - its not a real black. rather a brown. o_O but she looks too old even though i already made the makeup less make-uppy... but i'll let her face stay 'painted' --> porcellan-effect (to me) And the lighting doesnt work at all, but im more into fading-to-green problems right now.
those wings kill me + skirt not done + im very uncertain about that smoke-attack. and of course, weapon's still missing. I made a biiiig mistake in those wings, but i dont have the time to undo all of that right now. the right wing was supposed to continiue to the outer right side... whatever... still working on the weapons and detaiiiils. espec. the wings.
So, i am stuck with the ground. that was the first final version

After a week i redid some of the parts and thats the final final version.
